  • 1. I arrive at the venue at least 1 hour before the start of the exam.
  • 2. I ensure that I have the training Certificates with me.
  • 3. I meet the Supervisor and I make myself available for assistance.
  • 4. I am given all the items I need in the classroom, i.e. Scissors, Markers or chalk etc.
  • 5. I check that the clocks are running correctly.
  • 6. I ensure that the Candidate Tags are properly placed on the desks (snake-like numbering).
  • 7. I ensure that the Seating Regulations have been observed (1.25 m in every direction).
  • 8. I ensure there are no posters/pictures with images displaying words in my exam room.
  • 9. I put on my Name Tag.
  • 10. I test the audio system and the exam USB.
  • 11. I place the CIS (Candidate Information Sheets) correctly on the desks.
  • 12. I know that the exam papers come in sets of 5, 10, 20 or 50 for each Examination paper.
  • 13. I understand that I will have more question papers than I need and I keep them safe.
  • 14. I know there will be spare answer sheets; but I won’t use then I am told so.
  • 15. I know that I will need to fill in two copies of the Attendance Register.
  • 16. I ensure that I have my invigilation checklist.
  • 17. I write on the board the following:
    • a) The name of the component (i.e. Paper 1: Reading & Use of English)
    • b) the (Centre Number: GR 801)
    • c) the words (Start time: ........)

  • 18. I know the exact timetable, the duration of each paper and the order in which they come.
  • 19. I am ready to welcome (with a smile) the candidates in my room 30 minutes before the exam starts.
  • 20. I ensure that my mobile phone is turned off.

  • 1. Given that I cannot have my smartphone on during the exam, I have to have the Invigilator’s notes printed and available during the exam. So I need a hard copy.
I make sure that I have done the following and tick ( ✔ ) each box to confirm it:
  • 1. If there have been corrections in the name or the date of birth of candidates, I pass them on an note to the Supervisor.
  • 2. If there was a case where candidate(s) have been disadvantaged, I assist the supervisor to fill in and submit the online Special Considerations Form.
  • 3. I sign me Claim Form and hand it to the supervisor.
  • 4. I return all the items I was given at the start of the exam, such as markers etc.
  • 5. I ensure that the supervisor wants nothing more from me and I am free to depart.
